Artist Expression . . . Spirituality

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keeffe

Edith

Wheeling:

Definitionfrom Delaware Indian language weel (meaning ‘skull’ or ‘head’) and lunk (meaning ‘place of’).

I’ve always been attracted to beads and glass tiles because of the colors and textures.  I am most content when I am in my workshop, hands up to my elbows in grout, goo under my fingernails, and most likely, a swipe of dust across my forehead.  My mosaics allow me to express some of the miracles I have witnessed in my life.  I hope you find something pretty – even if you don’t find it meaningful.

My daughter took this video of my grouting my latest project, The Perennial Philosophy.

Make Way For Ducklings...
This piece is created around the vase - which was actually a toothbrush holder. It was flat on the back, and signed, so I believe someone made it. As soon as I saw it on the shelf at the Goodwill, I thought "that will make a perfect vase".

When I brought it home, my husband wanted to know why I was buying a toothbrush holder. But this point, you should all realize that there's no need to question🤔😜

Loved this "frame" I found at a thrift store. I couldn't really figure out it's original use, but it looked like a fruit bowl. Having no use for a fruit bowl, I filled the cavity with epoxy, and then built my floral arrangement on top of it. Thanks for selling this beauty, Vestiges, Ltd. in Red Wing!
